Anakin

Originally a pack stray, Maddie's Dog Rescue and Bandera Animal Control intervened in light of his worsening condition. Covered in scabs, Anakin had severe demodex mange, which can irritate the skin and weaken the immune system. Anakin received our proven mange treatment and a nutritious diet. Now, he's demodex free with a totally different life!

Canela

Canela laid on the side of the road, spotted by a Good Samaritan. Turns out he was microchipped, but the phone contact claimed the owner was ‘no longer around’ and blocked them. He had a suspicious looking mass on his leg, the cause being a snake bite! After his surgery and recovery at HLCR, Canela was lovingly adopted shortly after.

Zelda

Zelda had entropion, where the eyelid rolls inward causing a dog’s eyelashes to touch the eye, causing damage to the surface. While some puppies may grow out of this condition, Zelda was an adult and needed surgical correction. As a Diamond, she got the treatment she needed and was adopted very soon after recovery - eyes healthy and healed!
