Real Dogs, Real Stories: Mustangs on the Move for Good Deeds
Marble Falls High School Mustangs galloped to our rescue for their annual Rick Edwards Day of Service! These students didn't just trot through ā they really tackled the big tasks on our to-do head on. From filling holes to cleaning kennels, conquering mountains of laundryĀ and clearing fallen branches, our student volunteers were absolutely driven to getting things done.
Thanks to their hard work, our rescue pups are enjoying an even tidier space. We're absolutely thrilled that that these superstars chose to spend their day of service with us, making such a meaningful impact on our four-legged friends. A big thank you to volunteers as well, who came out for the morning to assist and supervise!
Advocate for HLCR Dogs This Amplify Austin

Some dogs come to us with broken bodies, others with broken spirits ā but with your help, we can make them whole again.Ā Right now, your donation has the power to do twice as much good.Ā Thanks to an incredible $25,000 matching grant, every dollar you give during Amplify Austin will beĀ doubledĀ ā meaning twice the medical care, twice the rehabilitation and twice the second chances for dogs who have nowhere else to turn.
Dogs like Hopper, who was born withĀ a disabled leg but isĀ this closeĀ toĀ getting the surgery that will change his life. This matchĀ is a game-changer, but we canātĀ unlock its full potential without you. Be the reason more dogs get the happy endings they deserve!

Diamond Update: Gizmo

Wandering the streets of New Braunfels with just a sweater, no one knew where he belonged. Fortunately, little Gizmo was caught by New Braunfels Animal Welfare & Rescue, though his history remained a mystery. He struggled with extreme anxiety and fear, refusing to let anyone handle him. Initially housed in our Critical Care Facility, he was terrified by any sort of attention. Nowadays, heās gotten a lot more comfortable being in the presence of people. Heās been going out on walks, hanging out in the office and lots more! Right now, Gizmo has tested positive for Heartworm Disease, an illness we are all too common with. Very soon, weāll be consulting our amazing veterinary partners about his heartworm so that he can be an adopted, healthy pup with a family of his own!
